In August the Ramsey High School jazz band went on a nine-day
tour of Japan at the invitation of the Japanese government. They were
asked to participate in the All Japan High School Cultural Festival
in Fukui City, a three-day, nationally televised annual event. In addition,
they performed in the same prefecture at the Takefu Higashi High School,
an institution with which Ramsey High has had an ongoing student exchange
program since 1989. They were accompanied by Band Director, Cliff Bialkin,
RHS Principal, Dr. Thomas Melville, his wife Florence and Dr. George
Rizzo, the former principal. |
